Feds Approve North Carolina’s Plan For I-95 Tolls

North Carolina won permission from the Federal Highway Administration on Friday to collect tolls on Interstate 95 to pay for a $4.4 billion widening project.

Holy cow. For the same money it would cost me to drive through North Carolina, I could go all the way down the Jersey Turnpike, through Delaware and into Maryland. This essentially doubles the total toll cost of a Northern NJ-to-Florida trip.

At least we have a couple of years to start planning alternative routes.

As long as it's a high speed EZ Pass I'm fine with it - It would be such a drag to have to slow down in NC!! It's where I make my best time..NYC 2 NSB (FL)
