Brunswick, Georgia lodging?

Postby frumpster » Tue Apr 24, 2007 5:54 pm

We'll be heading to Florida from NY this summer. One of the stops we're thinking of making is Brunswick for an overnighter.

Does anyone have any experience good or bad for the area?

There are several chains at exit 3. Last year we made a mistake of staying at the Scottish Inn. This was a major dump. Dirty! They tried to get me to pay with cash saying their machine was broken. Avoid them at all costs!

Thanks for the reply. I've been looking at the Comfort Inn. From what I can tell online and the AAA reviews it seems decent.

How is the area? Things to do?

We stay further up in Savannah GA. Lots of motels, and a few good resturants. The difference between the 2 are about 50 miles.

Thanks Charko!

We'll be staying in Brunswick on the ride down, but we might stop in Savannah on the ride home.

Exit 38. Holiday Inn. Expensive for I-95, however, you will get what you pay for. Nice stop over. Nice rooms, great restaurant. Stayed there last night. Front desk very accomodating, both in and out. Treat yourself.

If you want CHEAP try the Motel 6. We stayed there and it wasn't bad. One of the few Motel 6s with a pool if thats your thing. We look for basic no frills places to sleep so this place met our needs.

I forgot to add that the ones we stay in have indoor pools.
