NJ Turnpike Tolls Raised 12/01/2008

Well I don't drive that NJ YankMyCrank very often, but it looks like the old toll of $5.50 would only get you half way through these days.

Looks like the new end to end cash peak car tolls are $9.05

Off Peak EZ Pass looks like $6.30, a little easier to handle.

Details are here:

Supposedly part of this is to fund widening the Pike to 12 lanes down to Intergchange 6 where it is sometime inthe next century? supposed to connect to I-95 towards PA, and also to fund a new rail tunnel from NJ to NYC.

For the reverse route, here's a link for reference:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=J ... 8&t=h&z=10

Off the top of my head:
From the spot in Delaware going North on I-95 after the Del rest area where I-295 splits off to the Del Mem Bridge, NJ and the NJ Pike, stay on I-95 instead or take I-495 which bypasses Wilmington. Either way you will continue going up I-95 into PA and Philadelphia towards Trenton, NJ.
After Philly, watch for the correct US 1 North exit, as there is an exit for the older US1, probably called Business 1, but that is one of the Lincoln Highways with stores and lights, etc. Shnoogle maps says its Exit 46A to merge onto US-1 N toward Morrisville.
There is a point where you shift one lane over to the right to stay on US1.
As soon as you cross over the Del River into NJ the FIRST right hand ramp is for NJ 29, right after the bridge.
A left on NJ29 South takes you directly into I-195 East which you stay on a few miles until you hit the NJ Pike interchange.

That's it.

I just drove to and from Philly a few nights ago and just stayed on US-1 through NJ until I got to I-95 in PA since I was in a toll resistant mood and it was late at night and that worked well.

This is another view of the USUAL routing going from I-95 over to 295, the DM Bridge and the NJ Pike, of which that part is not I-95, but we all know the long drawn out story.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=5 ... 55688&z=10

This should be the ALTERNATE routing of STAYING on I-95 until the US-1 North Freeway north of Philly, then NJ-29 into I-195 back to the NJ Pike:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=5 ... =UTF8&z=10

Finally, this the the preferred routing, I-95 into I-495, back into I-95 and same as above, US-1, NJ-29, I-195:
