I just totally changed my itinerary. I am leaving Boston on a Monday afternoon (to avoid NY traffic in the morning) and am heading to Florida. I plan on stopping somewhere the first night along the Jersey Turnpike. I have looked at the hotels in East Brunswick which is about 260 miles and 5 hours from my beginning destination. Are there any other decent places to stay along the Jersey Turnpike in this area. I am not looking to go much further than 250-300 miles the first night. I am planning on driving to Emporia, Va on day 2 (400 miles) and Savannah, Ga on day 3 (400 miles), and Delray Beach, Fl on my final day (430 miles). Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Lodging along the Jersey Turnpike
I have stayed at a large sized hotel/motel right off the NJTP before at exit 8 (as a matter of fact you can see the place on your left side as you travel S/B on the turnpike), even though they put a giant "soundproof" wall there along the turnpike, you can still make it out, sadly I cannot remember the name, but it was a big one. the parking lot was huge, and the place itself was nice. As I checked the lodging area of this site's homepage, I'm saying it was the Ramada. Hope this helps

The really large hotel on the New Jersey Turnpike at exit 8 (on the left going south, behind the soundwall) is the Holiday Inn.

I guess I stand corrected, thanks to the webmaster for the fact check.

It may have been a Ramada at one time. Hotels are always trying to "reinvent" themselves.
