Pavement and bridge rehabilitation work is on its way for a 13-mile stretch of I-95 in Cumberland County, with the awarding of a $16.4 million contract by the N.C. Department of Transportation.
Construction will take place between Exit 40 (I-95 Business/U.S. 301) in Hope Mills and north of Exit 53 (N.C. 24). Work may begin as soon as June 27 and should be completed by Nov. 15, 2017.
To lessen the impact for travelers, the work on I-95 will be done at night. No lane closures are allowed on Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday from 6 a.m. until Sunday at 9 p.m.
