I-95 Exit Closures and More in Rhode Island This Week

Temporary exit, ramp and lane closures on Interstate 95 in Rhode Island are scheduled this week. These restrictions are being reported by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation:

Temporary Exit Closures

  • Warwick to Pawtucket: Temporary exit closures for wrong way driving work at the following locations along I-95 North and South, Monday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day.
    • I-95 North and South at Exit 15 (Jefferson Blvd.)
    • I-95 North and South at Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.)
    • I-95 South at Exit 19 (Eddy St.)
    • I-95 North/I-195 West at Exits 20/1A (Point St.)
    • I-95 North at Exit 22A (Rte. 6/Memorial Blvd.)
    • I-95 North at Exit 24 (Branch Ave.)
    • I-95 North at Exit 26 (Rte. 122/Lonsdale Ave.)
    • I-95 North at Exit 30 (East St.)

Overnight Restrictions

  • Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.) to Exit 16 (Rte. 10), and I-95 North, from Exit 16 (Rte. 10) to Exit 20 (Point St.), partial right lane, shoulder and temporary ramp closures for roadway sweeping, Monday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
  • Providence: I-95 North, from Exit 16 (Rte. 10), to Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.), two right lanes and shoulder closures for bridge work, Tuesday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
  • Warwick/Cranston: I-95 North, from Exit 15 (Jefferson Blvd.) to Exit 16 (Rte. 10), two left lanes and shoulder closures for bridge work, Monday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

Weekday Restrictions

  • Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.) to Exit 16 (Rte. 10), lane and shoulder closures possible in a moving operation for pothole patching, Monday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Expect delays.
