Overnight Travel Delays for I-95 Construction in Virginia

The Virginia Department of Transportation reports that motorists should anticipate overnight travel delays on Interstate 95 northbound and southbound this week in Spotsylvania and Stafford counties now through early Saturday, Sept. 16.

The following I-95 construction lane closures are planned, weather permitting:

I-95 Northbound and Southbound:

  • Monday, Sept. 11 ˗˗ Friday, Sept. 15 (ending at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16)
    • Single lane closure at 9 p.m. at mile marker 121 (Ni River bridge) south of Exit 126 (Massaponax) in Spotsylvania County
    • Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
    • All lanes open by 4:30 a.m.

Crews will continue work to improve and repair the I-95 northbound and southbound bridges over the Ni River.

  • Wednesday, Sept. 13 ˗˗ Thursday, Sept. 14
    • Single lane closure at 9 p.m. at mile marker 134 (Truslow Road) south of Exit 136/Centreport Parkway in Stafford County
    • Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
    • All lanes open at 4:30 a.m.

Crews will be making repairs to the Truslow Road bridge.

Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control near both I-95 construction work zones.

Message boards will warn travelers to stay alert for the I-95 construction work zones ahead and possible delays.

Drivers may use Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) as an alternate route.
