Anticipated Delays for Several I-95 Projects Next Week in Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation reports the following I-95 construction and maintenance projects are scheduled for next week. These projects may result in travel delays, so please schedule your trips accordingly.

  • Southbound Interstate 95 motorists will encounter right and left lane closures at night next week from just south of the Interstate 676/Callowhill (Exit 22) Interchange to just north of the Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) Interchange in Philadelphia, for lighting installation.
    The work schedule is:

    • Monday, June 11, and Tuesday, June 12, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the right lane and shoulder on southbound I-95 will be closed; and
    • Tuesday, June 12, through Friday, June 15, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the left lane and shoulder on southbound I-95 will be closed.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on southbound I-95 through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

  • Interstate 95 motorists will encounter single and double overnight lane closures are scheduled in both directions between the Academy Road and Route 332 (Newtown Yardley) interchanges on Monday, June 11, through Friday, June 15, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, for bridge deck repair, patching and paving operations as part of a project to repair and resurface 13 miles of I-95 in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County.
    The work schedule is:

    • Double lane closures will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Academy Road and Route 132 (Street Road) interchanges;
    • Double lane closures will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Route 413 (Bristol) and Route 132 (Street Road) interchanges; and
    • A single right lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Route 332 (Newtown Yardley) and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 in the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.

  • Intermittent lane closures are scheduled on southbound Interstate 95 between the Newtown and Bristol interchanges in Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County, beginning Monday, June 11, through Thursday, June 14, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, for guide rail repair, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. The schedule is weather dependent.

  • Lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 for overhead sign inspections.
    The work schedule is:

    • Tuesday June 12, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on southbound I-95 just south of the Chichester Avenue Interchange in Upper Chichester Township, Delaware County
    • Tuesday, June 12, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the ramp from northbound I-95 to Aramingo Avenue in Philadelphia;

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All activities are weather dependent.
