Jasper’s Porch Lakeside Restaurant – Ridgeland, SC

Location: I-95, exit 21 – Ridgeland, South Carolina

Jasper’s Porch Lakeside Restaurant is a very charming little place. If you sit on the porch, not only can you enjoy some great food, you can look out on the lake and watch the turtles and gators swimming in the water below. Very fascinating for kids! They have wonderful service and tasty food.

Don’t forget to try the fried pickles!

  1. We sat on the porch for lunch. It is screened in and shady, so dress appropriately. It was a very nice change from the fast food. Our three kids didn’t see any turtles or gators, but enjoyed being out of the minivan. The lake is more of a large retention basin with a fountain, surrounded by trees (not quite what I pictured in my mind, but it serves its purpose). I had the fried oysters, they were excellent, the potato covered shrimp was a good appetizer. The Mrs. had the fried shrimp which were also very good. The kids had burgers and chicken tenders from the kiddie menu, tenders were excellent, they ate the burgers without a fuss. The service was good and prices were reasonable. I would go back.

  2. We stopped at Exit 21 just off I-95 heading south and discovered Jaspers Porch Lakefront restaurant. Very charming with a great atmosphere and just off the Interstate! It actually feels like you are in someone’s lake home decorated in a hunting and fish theme and you are welcomed the same as well. Fantastic southern fried chicken with all the country veggies. Lunch buffet is really good and very reasonably priced. View of the lake is awesome and so relaxing to sit outside on the porch. The owners Ed and Nancy were there and make you feel like you are part of their family. The place is pet friendly and not only did they give my dog a bowl of water, but a pet treat as well! I even got to walk my dog around the lake and through the woods on the Blue Heron Nature Trail – what a pleasant break from a long drive. Will definately stop on my way back up North.

  3. My husband and I travel from NC to FL and this is our favorite restaurant! We plan our trip around having diner there!! Best fried chicken and veggie’s ever! Not to mention the home made desserts!! YUM

  4. My better half I found Jasper’s Porch a few years ago on our way back to North Carolina from Florida. Now everytime we travel past, we stop. As a matter of fact we are headed to Disney for Christmas and we are planning our trip around our dinner at Jasper’s Porch.

  5. My daughter and I came across Jaspers by accident. We were on our way north and had a flat tire. The motel we stayed at recomended Jaspers which was very close. What a wonderful place! Now we try to stop there when we go by there. We also tell our friends and family about it. We will be going up north June 2, 2012 and hope to stop there for dinner.

  6. Found this place by accident on a trip back to FL after visiting family in MD for Thanksgiving in 2014. Looking forward to trying it again in the evening during the holidays as they have Christmas lighting around the lake! That will be the ‘icing’ on a wonderful meal.
