The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced the following ramp and lane closures on Interstate 95 this week:
Christiana — DelDOT’s contractor, Pennoni Associates Inc., will be performing bridge inspections on Monday, February 22 and Tuesday, February 23, pending weather.
Motorists should be aware that bridge personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to the travel lanes and anticipate lane shifts.
Daytime inspection from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with lane closures and traffic shifts.
Monday, February 22: Traffic shift Exit 4A/I-95 northbound off-ramp to SR 1 southbound will be shifted to the south to temporarily increase the width of the right shoulder. Once the work is done in the right shoulder, traffic will be shifted to the north to temporarily increase the width of the left shoulder. The ramp will remain open during the traffic shift and cones will be placed in advance of the horizontal curve to provide advanced notice to traffic.
In addition, there will be a right lane closure on Exit 4A/I-95 southbound to SR 1 southbound (Flyover Ramp). The exit for SR 7 southbound/Christiana Mall Road will remain open during the lane closure.
Tuesday, February 23: Alternating right and left lane closures on the road carrying traffic from Churchmans Road to SR 1/7 southbound and the ramps for I-95. All exits will remain open.
