I-95 Travel Restrictions in Rhode Island This Week

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is reporting the following highway restrictions on Interstate 95 thru March 11, 2016:

Ongoing Restriction

Providence: I-195 East and West, from the I-95 interchange to Exit 2 (EB: India St./Gano St.; WB: South Main St.), left shoulder closure for construction through April 2016.


Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 22 (Downtown Providence/Rtes. 6 & 10) to just south of Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.), two right lanes closed for construction, Monday-Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. Please note: the first lane closes at 9 p.m., and the second at 10 p.m.

Providence: I-95 South and North under the Clifford St. Bridge, alternating lane closures for a bridge inspection, Sunday and Monday nights from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day.

Sunday night: I-95 South
Monday night: I-95 North

Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 20 (I-195) to Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.), alternating lane closures for a bridge inspection, Tuesday night from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day.


Providence: I-95 North and South, from Exit 23 (Rte. 146/State Offices) to Exit 25 (Smithfield Ave.), right shoulder closed for electrical work, Monday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
