Lane, Ramp Closures, Detours for I-95 Construction in Jacksonville

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-95 construction in the Jacksonville area, through Friday, April 27, 2018:

  • Daytime lane closures on I-95 at I-295 East Beltway at north interchange Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for overpass work.
  • Complete nighttime access closure on I-95 northbound access to Acosta and Main Street bridges from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to install overhead signage. Follow detour route.
  • Complete nighttime access closure on I-95 southbound access to Acosta and Main Street bridges from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for bridge construction and to install overhead signs.
    • Detour for southbound Acosta Bridge traffic is Prudential Drive, Kings Avenue, Philips Highway, Emerson Street to I-95 southbound.
    • Detour for southbound Main Street Bridge traffic is Museum Circle, Prudential Drive, Kings Avenue, Philips Highway, Emerson Street to I-95 southbound.
    • Detour for westbound Museum Circle traffic is San Marco Boulevard, Prudential Drive, Kings Avenue, Philips Highway, Emerson Street to I-95 southbound.
    • Detour for eastbound and westbound Prudential Drive is Kings Avenue, Philips Highway, Emerson Street to I-95 southbound.
    • Detour for northbound Acosta Bridge is northbound Fuller Warren Bridge, Park Street, southbound Fuller Warren Bridge, San Marco Boulevard to Mary Street.
    • Detour for northbound Main Street Bridge is northbound Fuller Warren Bridge, Park Street, southbound Fuller Warren Bridge, San Marco Boulevard to Prudential Drive.
  • Nighttime off-ramp closure from northbound I-95 at Max Leggett Parkway Monday and Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for guardrail installation. Follow detour route.
  • Nighttime southbound lane closures on I-95 from Old St. Augustine Road to State Road 9B Sunday through Friday, April 27 from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. to install overhead signs.
  • Nighttime lane closures on I-95 access road from Overland Bridge project to Atlantic Boulevard from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for bridge construction.
  • Nighttime northbound lane closures on I-95 from Park Street to Emerson Street from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for roadway and overpass construction.
  • Nighttime lane closures on I-95 from Park Street to San Marco Boulevard exit Monday through Sunday, April 29 from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for roadside work.
  • Complete off-ramp closure on I-95 at Stockton Street from Friday, April 20 at 8 p.m. through Monday at 5 a.m. for drainage work. Follow detour route.

Temporary Closure of Southbound I-95 Express Toll Lanes in Baltimore

The Maryland Department of Transportation reports that the southbound I-95 Express Toll Lanes in Baltimore will be closed overnight. Motorists will use adjacent mainline I-95 traffic lanes during the closures.

Weather permitting, this closure will occur Sunday, April 22, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning.

Crews will be performing routine maintenance.

Lane Closures, Shifts, Travel Delays for I-95 Construction in Delaware

The Delaware Department of Transportation’s contractor will implement nighttime lane closures next week for work on the new SR 141 bridge. Motorists should anticipate travel delays.

I-95 Northbound Shifted to I-295 Northbound on the following dates and times:

  • 8 PM Monday, April 23, 2018 until 5 AM on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 Rain Date: 8 PM Tuesday, April 24, 2018 until 5 AM on Wednesday, April 25, 2018
    • All I-95 northbound lanes will be closing and shifting to I-295 northbound between Exit 5 and past the Route 141 northbound interchange before merging again with I-95 northbound via the temporary crossover. The SR 141 northbound ramp (Exit 3A) to I-95 northbound and SR 141 southbound ramp (Exit 3A) to I-95 northbound will also be closed during this time period.

Detour Routes

I-95 northbound motorists will use the right lanes signed for I-295 northbound and stay in the left lane of I-295 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-95 northbound.

  • SR 141 northbound to I-95 northbound motorists should follow detour signs and make a left on Commons Boulevard, a right onto Churchmans Road, a left onto SR 1/7 southbound, and merge onto I-95 northbound.
  • SR 141 southbound to I-95 northbound motorists should follow detour signs to make a right on Commons Boulevard, a right onto Churchmans Road, a left onto SR 1/7 southbound, and merge onto I-95 northbound.

I-295 Northbound Shifted to I-95 Northbound on the following dates and times

  • 8 PM Tuesday, April 24, 2018 until 5 AM on Wednesday, April 25, 2018
  • Rain Date: 8 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2018 until 5 AM on Thursday, April 26, 2018
    • The contractor will be shifting I-295 northbound traffic to I-95 northbound between Exit 5 and past the Route 141 northbound interchange before merging again with I-295 northbound via the temporary crossover. The SR 141 southbound ramp (Exit 2) to I-295 northbound will be also closed during this time period.

Detour Routes

  • I-295 northbound motorists will use the right lane signed for I-95 northbound and stay in the right lane of I-95 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-295 northbound.
  • SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound motorists should follow detour signs to make a right on Commons Boulevard, a right onto Churchmans Road, a left onto SR 1/7 southbound, and merge onto I-95 northbound.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists.

I-95 Ramp Construction Will Require Lane Closures, Detours in Delaware

The Delaware Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) contractor will implement nighttime lane closures next week for beam placement for the new SR 141 bridge and travel delays should be expected.

I-295 Northbound Shifted to I-95 Northbound on the following dates and times:

  • 8 PM Monday, April 16, 2018 until 5 AM on Tuesday, April 17, 2018
  • 8 PM Tuesday, April 17, 2018 until 5 AM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018

I-95 northbound will be reduced to just the two left lanes and the contractor will be shifting I-295 northbound traffic to I-95 northbound between Exit 5 and past the Route 141 northbound interchange before merging again with I-295 northbound via the temporary crossover. The SR 141 southbound ramp (Exit 2) to I-295 northbound will be also closed during this time period.

Detour Routes:

  • I-295 northbound motorists will use the right lane signed for I-95 northbound and stay in the right lane of I-95 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-295 northbound.

Major I-95 Resurfacing Project Starts April 15 in Georgia, Expect Delays

The Georgia Department of Transportation reports that the $12.5 million resurfacing project of Interstate 95 from the Florida State line extending to just south of Horsestamp Church Road (Exit 22) interchange in Camden County will start Sunday, April 15 continuing through the Fall.

Contractors will begin milling and resurfacing within two mile-long lane closures on the 22-mile project limits. General nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. in a five to seven night workweek. All work is weather contingent.

Single and/or double lane closures should be expected nightly while contractors paving activities are underway. Periodic ramp closures will be utilized for the scope of work required on entrance and exit ramps, closure details will be forth coming.

Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; read signs; and expect the unexpected.
