Six Flags Over Georgia is part of the Six Flags chain of theme parks, located a few miles west of Atlanta, in Austell, Georgia. Like most theme parks, Six Flags prides itself on its roller coaster collection, and this park boasts 14 coasters… “Dahlonega Mine Train”, a steel coaster; “the Great American Scream Machine” opened as the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster at a height of 105 feet and speeds of 57 miles per hour; “Mindbender”, a terrain-following looping steel coaster, “Georgia Cyclone”, a world class wooden coaster and Six Flags steel coaster staples, “Batman – The Rise” and “Superman”.
If roller coasters isn’t your thing, Six Flags Over Georgia maintains a large number of other rides and attractions. Two featured attractions include “Acrophobia”, the world’s first “floorless” freefall tower ride, and the”Riverview Carousel”, one of only three remaining five-abreast carousels known to exist and on the National Register of Historical Places”. Their water park features “Skull Island”, a treasure trove of water rides and good clean fun.
