Consider timing your drive to avoid Friday afternoons in summer when beach-goers head to the coast. The bridge has a moderate incline that can slow trucks down.
Watch Out For: Frequent merging traffic near Exit 83-84 (Route 32/Naval Submarine Base entrance). Speed enforcement is common through this stretch - CT State Police are active here. Left-lane exits can surprise unfamiliar drivers.
