Located along I-95 & US 64, this large city has many things todo. It is on the Nash/Edgecombe County line. If you didn’t know, Jazz great Thelanius Monk was born here in 1917. Rocky Mount has a 2-3 major hospitials. Rocky Mount has 3 major radio stations: FM – 95.5 WKTC (KATIE COUNTRY), 98.5 WSAY (DOWN EAST COUNTRY), and New Mix 99.7, and Oldies 107.9 WNCT (WNCT is based out of Greenville, NC)


Places to Stay in Rocky Mount

Along I-95, there are 3 main exits: Exit 145, Exit 141, and Exit 138. At Exit 145, you will find a Shoney’s Inn, a Howard Johnson, Inn, and a Ramada Inn. At Exit 141, you will find a Holiday Inn. At Exit 138, you will find a Hampton Inn, a Holiday Inn, and Comfort Inn, a Best Western, a Fairfield Inn, and a Residence Inn.


Places to Eat in Rocky Mount

In Rocky Mount, there are 115 restaurants, such as Golden Corral, Outback Steakhouse, Hing Ta, The Mayflower Seafood Restrauant, Texas Steakhouse and Saloon, Ryan’s, Chico’s, and there are many more.


Places to Go in Rocky Mount

In Rocky Mount, there are many places to visit. You might want to check out the City Lake Park. Located on Sunset Avenue, this park is really incredible. Also you might want to see is The Children’s Museum, the Braswell Library, and there are many more to list.


Getting Around Rocky Mount

On the 2nd weekend in October, Rocky Mount has the annual “Down East Festival”. Held in downtown Rocky Mount, this citywide event has many arts and crafts, live music, and of course, free food. To get to Rocky Mount, just take I-95 to exit 138/US 64, take US 64 EAST straight into town.

  1. Visiting North Carolina is sucha joy and what a great resource for travellers. we drive up there every summer from our Clearwater St Petersburg home to visit my parent who live there. It is a great drive and not a bad flight from the St Petersburg Clearwater airport and then drive. Thanks!
