Getting Around Cocoa Beach…
Cocoa Beach is accessible from I-95 exit 75 and then east on FL 520 about 10 miles. US Route A1A runs north-south along the Atlantic coast and through the Cocoa Beach area.
Cocoa Beach is a relatively small, narrow city, which makes navigation straightforward.
- By Car: The main thoroughfare is Florida State Road A1A, which runs north-south. Most businesses are located directly on this road or on Orlando Avenue (the southbound companion to A1A). Parking is available at most parks and businesses, though some beach-end streets require paid parking via an app or kiosk.
- The Cocoa Beach Trolley: Operated by Space Coast Area Transit, the trolley is a fun and affordable way to see the city. It runs from Port Canaveral down to 13th Street South. The fare is typically around $1.50, and it runs roughly every 30 minutes.
- Walking and Biking: The “downtown” area (near Minutemen Causeway) is very walkable. Biking is also extremely popular; many hotels offer rentals. The wide, hard-packed sand at low tide is actually a great place for a beach bike ride.
