Browns Lobster Pound located in Seabrook, New Hampshire. It’s a few miles off Interstate 95 (exit 1), but worth the few minutes’ drive.
When we were youngsters, we would NOT tell tourists about this place, lest it be “ruined”. But it’s great, and during tourist season, it’s packed. You can take a seafood platter — or, the local specialty, lobster. You pick your own, by weight and they steam it for you. This is a “seafood in the rough” place, which is typical of seafood places on the New England coast.
They have moderate prices, cash only (ATM is on site), and I don’t know if they accept Canadian money. There is no alcohol sold BUT you can BYOB, and there’s no beer store nearby, so if you want a beer — and what goes better with New England seafood than beer? — you should make a stop and pick up a can or two.
Browns Lobster Pound is open 7-days a week from 11:00 am – 9:00 pm.
