  1. This is a town with a lot of hotels, but very few sit down and dine restaurants with bars. The Captain’s Quarters with a bar closes at 9:00 pm as does the horrible Clarks’s Restaurant and Pub. Pedro’s closes at 10:00 pm. After driving on I-95 for almost 12 hours, and pulling into Santee at 9:20 pm we were shocked that the town had gone to sleep.

  2. We have been driving to Florida for over 30 years and regularly stop for the night in Santee. There are some good hotels and restaurants at this exit… and the gas is cheap too!

  3. I grew up visiting the area every summer…my grandparents and extended family lived in Eutawville area. Now when I visit family with my children and grandchildren, Santee is definitely where we stay because it’s so convenient and close to all our relatives!
