Construction on I-95 in North Carolina to Begin Sunday Night

Contractors for the North Carolina Department of Transportation will begin nighttime construction on I-95, heading north in Eastover in Cumberland County, beginning on Sunday, September 18.

These lane closures will be nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. through Friday, September 23.

Crews will mill and resurface the ramp on Exit 55 at Murphy Road and continuing north along I-95. This resurfacing will be a nightly operation on I-95 and the ramps.

Contractors will rehabilitate the bridge decks on I-95 over N.C. 421, near Dunn. Traffic will be detoured down the exit ramp and back onto I-95 utilizing the on-ramp.

Also, beginning 6:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, contractors will begin bridge rehabilitation on U.S. 301/I-95 Business in Eastover on the flyover I-95 bridge. The rehabilitation will involve both day and nighttime construction. One lane will be closed until Saturday, October 8.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch for construction signs, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
