The North Carolina Department of Transportation announced that highway improvements are on the way for a section of I-95 in Robeson County.

A project getting underway on Monday, April 10, calls for new pavement lane striping and snowplowable markers to be placed in both the north and southbound lanes between the South Carolina line and N.C. 72 in Lumberton. Similar improvements will be made on the ramps at exits 1B, 2, 7 and 10.

Work can take place day or night on Mondays through Fridays but will be halted at noon on Fridays so it doesn’t interfere with weekend traffic. In work areas, for the safety of crews, one of two lanes will be closed. The project is expected to wrap up by late Friday, April 28.

Drivers need to slow down when approaching work zones and anticipate possible delays in the area.
