The Delaware Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) contractor will implement nighttime lane closures next week for beam placement for the new SR 141 bridge and travel delays should be expected.
I-295 Northbound Shifted to I-95 Northbound on the following dates and times:
- 8 PM Monday, April 16, 2018 until 5 AM on Tuesday, April 17, 2018
- 8 PM Tuesday, April 17, 2018 until 5 AM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018
I-95 northbound will be reduced to just the two left lanes and the contractor will be shifting I-295 northbound traffic to I-95 northbound between Exit 5 and past the Route 141 northbound interchange before merging again with I-295 northbound via the temporary crossover. The SR 141 southbound ramp (Exit 2) to I-295 northbound will be also closed during this time period.
Detour Routes:
- I-295 northbound motorists will use the right lane signed for I-95 northbound and stay in the right lane of I-95 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-295 northbound.
- SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound motorists should follow detour signs to make a right on Commons Boulevard, a right onto Churchmans Road, a left onto SR 1/7 southbound, and merge onto I-95 northbound.
I-95 Northbound Shifted to I-295 Northbound on the following dates and times:
- 8 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2018 until 5 AM on Thursday, April 19, 2018
- 8 PM Thursday, April 19, 2018 until 5 AM on Friday, April 20, 2018
- 9 PM Friday, April 20, 2018 until 10 AM on Saturday, April 21, 2018
All I-95 northbound lanes will be closing and shifting to I-295 northbound between Exit 5 and past the Route 141 northbound interchange before merging again with I-95 northbound via the temporary crossover. The SR 141 northbound ramp (Exit 3A) to I-95 northbound and SR 141 southbound ramp (Exit 3A) to I-95 northbound will also be closed during this time period.
Detour Routes:
- I-95 northbound motorists will use the right lanes signed for I-295 northbound and stay in the left lane of I-295 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-95 northbound.
- SR 141 northbound to I-95 northbound motorists should follow detour signs and make a left on Commons Boulevard, a right onto Churchmans Road, a left onto SR 1/7 southbound, and merge onto I-95 northbound.
- SR 141 southbound to I-95 northbound motorists should follow detour signs to make a right on Commons Boulevard, a right onto Churchmans Road, a left onto SR 1/7 southbound, and merge onto I-95 northbound.
Detour signage will be posted for motorists.
