The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-95 construction and maintenance operations, through Friday, January 10, 2020.
New Traffic Pattern
Providence: The I-95 North off-ramp to Rte. 146 North at Exit 23, a new traffic pattern will be in place until mid-Fall, and will change when all lanes shift to the right for the last phase of construction. Final completion of the project is scheduled for Fall 2020.
Temporary Exit Closure
Providence: I-95 North, Exit 22 B/C will be closed for construction, Tues. night, 9 p.m.-5 a.m. Follow signed detour.
Overnight Lane Closures
- Providence: I-95, from Branch Ave. to Smithfield Ave., alternating lane closures for construction, Sun.-Thurs. nights, 9 p.m.-5 a.m.
- Providence: I-95 North, from Exit 18 to Exit 19, right lane closed for construction, Sun.-Thurs. nights, 7 p.m.-5 a.m.
- Warwick: I-95, from Exit 11 to Cowesett Rd. overpass, alternating lane closures for construction, Mon.-Thurs. nights, 8 p.m.-4 a.m.
Weekday Lane Restrictions
- Richmond: I-95, from Exit 3A to Exit 3B, ramp narrowed for construction, Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
- Warwick: I-95 South at the Rte. 117 interchange, ramps narrowed for construction, Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
- Warwick: I-95, from Exit 10 to Exit 11, alternating lane closures in a moving operation for paving, Tues., 9:30 a.m.-noon.
Ongoing Traffic Patterns
- Hopkinton/Richmond: I-95, from Exit 2 to Exit 3, lane shifts for bridge work through June 2020.
- Two northbound lanes will be shift to the left from the exterior to the median area
