I-95 travelers passing through Georgia during the next two weekends should be aware of the following closures that may have an impact on their trip.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) advises motorists that it will close I-95 Exit 87 northbound on-ramp from US 17 for the next two weekends beginning at 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 26 as part of the overall project’s maintenance staging plans.
I-95 Exit 87 northbound entrance ramp complete weekend closures with detour in place are scheduled from 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 26 until 5:00 a.m., Monday, September 29 and again from 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 3 until 5:00 a.m., Monday, October 6. If weather delays work, these closures will be pushed back a weekend until work is completed.

Traffic will be detoured via US 17, SR 144 and I-95 Exit 90 on-ramp. Ramp closures are required for edge bridge beam work to be completed.
Motorists are reminded that I-95 at Exit 87 this is a WORK ZONE and are advised to reduce speed and exercise extreme caution travelling through this area. Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to the travel lanes.
