    I-95 Southbound Closures, Detours in Delaware for Concrete Barrier Installation

    The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that the installation of concrete barriers will require the overnight closure of I-95 southbound in Wilmington. During the overnight closures of I-95 southbound, motorists may follow the posted detour or take alternate routes I-495 or US 13 to their destination.

    Times and Dates (pending weather):

    • Full I-95 Southbound Closure – 9:00 PM on Wednesday March 16 until 5:00 AM on Thursday, March 17, 2022.
    • Full I-95 Southbound Closure – 9:00 PM on Thursday, March 17 until 5:00 AM on Friday, March 18, 2022.

    Location:

    • I-95 southbound between Exit 7 (Delaware Avenue/SR 52) and 2nd Street on ramp.

    Detour:

    • Motorists will take Exit 7B (Delaware Ave./ SR 52 North) onto North Jackson Street and proceed to turn left onto Martin Luther King Boulevard, then left onto Adams Street, and left onto 2nd Street to access I-95 SB on ramp. Trucks will take North Jackson Street and proceed left onto Martin Luther King Boulevard, then right onto US 13 southbound to I-495 south exit to I-95 southbound.

    Detour signage will be posted for motorists.
