The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will be performing overnight work on I-95 Southbound in Portsmouth on Sunday, November 2, 2025, between the hours of 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
Weather permitting, nightwork will consist of the placement of portable concrete barrier along the Southbound right shoulder starting from the Exit 7 off ramp (MM 15.6) to the Exit 5 off ramp (MM 14.0) and will require the right lane and shoulder of Southbound I-95 to be closed. The existing shoulder will be reduced from 13 feet to 2 feet for approximately 3 months.
Beginning Monday, November 3, 2025, daytime work will take place behind the barrier within the Part Time Shoulder Use (PTSU) Lane, between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The Part-Time Shoulder Us (PTSU) lane will remain unavailable for the duration of this closure, through Friday, January 30, 2026.
Message boards, uniformed officers, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the travelling public. This work is part of the construction of two sound abatement walls and privacy fence along I-95 in Portsmouth.
