I-95 travelers passing through Philadelphia next week should be aware of the following work resulting in significant backups and delays that may impact their trip.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that work will occur early Wednesday morning, March 11, on I-95 under the $329 million CAP project to replace and expand the covered area over the interstate between Chestnut and Walnut streets.
Weather permitting, motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Wednesday, March 11, from 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM, periodic lane closures with rolling stoppages will be in place on I-95 in both directions between the I-676 Central Philadelphia/Callowhill Street (Exit 22) and Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) interchanges.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because significant backups and delays will occur.
