The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) alerts motorists that bridge work will occur early Friday March 20, on I-95 and on Columbus Boulevard in Center City Philadelphia under a $56.1 million project to perform high-priority repairs on interstate bridges, to maintain the functionality, safety, and mobility of the structures along critical corridors.
I-95 drivers are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Friday, March 20, from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM, periodic lane closures are scheduled on I-95 in both directions between the I-676 Central Philadelphia/Callowhill Street (Exit 22) and Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) interchanges.
- Friday, March 20, from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM, two left lanes will be closed on northbound Columbus Boulevard at the intersection with Christian Street.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
