The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that paving, striping and related work between Exit 8/US 202 and I-495 spilt will require the weekend closure of I-95 Southbound through Wilmington and the 2nd Street on-ramp to I-95 Southbound.
Dates and Location:
I-95 Southbound: Weekend Closure – 8:00 pm Friday, October 7th to 5:00 am Monday, October 10th.
2nd Street on-ramp to I-95 Southbound: Weekend Closure – 8:00 pm Friday, October 7th to 5:00 am Monday, October 10th.
Detours:
I-95 Southbound – Motorists coming from Pennsylvania will be directed to use I-495 Southbound. Local traffic entering I-95 Southbound will be detoured off at Exit 8/US 202, and directed to Southbound Rt 141 back to I-95 Southbound.
2nd Street on-ramp – Motorists will be directed to MLK Boulevard to US 13 South to I-495 South.
UPON I-95 REOPENING ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 10th :
- Exit Ramp 7B (Rt 52/Delaware Avenue Northbound) will be OPEN, as will Exit7A (Rt 52/Delaware Avenue SB)
- Southbound I-95 Traffic will travel on the newly constructed southbound lanes, with a single lane available through Wilmington.
