Expect Daytime Delays on I-95 in Virginia This Weekend

The Virginia Department of Transportation reports that daytime travel delays on Interstate 95 are possible in Caroline County this Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23 for a routine bridge inspection of the I-95 northbound and southbound overpasses spanning CSX railroad tracks, located just south of Exit 104 (Route 207/Carmel Church).

I-95 lane closures have been scheduled at the following dates and times:

Saturday, February 22

  • I-95 Southbound: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Single lane closure on I-95 southbound at mile marker 103

Sunday, February 23

  • I-95 Northbound: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Single lane closure on I-95 northbound at mile marker 103

Work must be performed during weekend hours due to the availability of a certified railroad flagging crew.
