I-95 Full Ramp Closures, Detours Begin May 18 in Palm Beach County

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports that it will be Installing flashing beacons, wrong-way signage, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices at exit ramps along I-95 to enhance safety by detecting wrong-way drivers and preventing serious injury crashes on the State Highway System; integrating the wrong-way driving detecting system/ITS with the Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) to aid in alerting motorists and notifying law enforcement; and upgrading wrong-way signage and pavement markings to preserve the service life of the road and enhance visibility.

The following work will be actively underway at these locations beginning next week:

Advance I-95 Full Ramp Closures:

  • The SR 9/I-95 southbound exit ramp to the Palmetto Park Road (Exit 44) will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday night, May 18, for milling and resurfacing operations. Traffic will be detoured via the SR 9/I-95 southbound exit ramp to Hillsboro Boulevard (Exit 42), turn left onto Hillsboro Boulevard, and proceed to the northbound I-95 entrance ramp to access Palmetto Park Road. FHP will be on site, and signage will be in place to assist motorists.
  • The SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp to the Linton Boulevard (Exit 51) will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday night, May 18, for milling and resurfacing operations. Traffic will be detoured via northbound I-95 to Atlantic Avenue (Exit 52), turn right onto Atlantic Avenue, Uturn at SW 12th Avenue, and proceed to the southbound I-95 entrance ramp to access Linton Boulevard. FHP will be on site and signage will be in place to assist motorists.
  • The SR 9/I-95 southbound exit ramp to the 10th Avenue (Exit 64) will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday night, May 19, for milling and resurfacing operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound I-95 to 6th Avenue (Exit 63), turn left onto 6th avenue, and proceed to the northbound I-95 entrance ramp to access 10th Avenue. FHP will be on site and signage will be in place to assist motorists.
  • The SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp to the Forest Hill Boulevard (Exit 66) will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday night, May 19, for milling and resurfacing operations. Traffic will be detoured via northbound I-95 to Southern Boulevard (Exit 68), turn left onto Southern Boulevard, and proceed to the southbound I-95 entrance ramp to access Forest Hill Boulevard. FHP will be on site and signage will be in place to assist motorists.
  • The SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp to the Blue Heron Boulevard (Exit 76) will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday night, May 20, for milling and resurfacing operations. Traffic will be detoured via northbound SR 9/I-95 to Northlake Boulevard (Exit 77), turn left onto Northlake Boulevard, and proceed to the southbound I-95 entrance ramp to access Blue Heron Boulevard. FHP will be on site and signage will be in place to assist motorists.
  • The SR 9/I-95 southbound exit ramp to the Palmetto Park Road (Exit 44) will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday night, May 20, for milling and resurfacing operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound I-95 to Hillsboro Boulevard (Exit 42), turn left onto Hillsboro Boulevard, and proceed to the northbound I-95 entrance ramp to access Palmetto Park Road. FHP will be on site and signage will be in place to assist motorists.
