I-95 travelers passing through Connecticut this summer should be aware of a bridge construction project that may impact their trip.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a bridge replacement project in West Haven will begin on I-95 over First Avenue and the bridge carrying I-95 over Metro North Railroad. This work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday May 27, 2025, and be completed on July 22, 2027.

Motorists can expect various lane closures in both the north and southbound directions on I-95 over First Avenue and the bridge carrying I-95 over Metro North Railroad for the duration of the project. Traffic control personnel and Connecticut State Troopers will guide motorists through the work zones.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
