    Rhode Island I-95 Traffic | I-95 Construction | I-95 Exit Guide

    The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) advises I-95 motorists of the following highway restrictions that will impact travel for the period between Saturday, December 27, 2025 and Friday, January 2, 2026. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

    Providence: I-95 North motorists are using a new traffic pattern after the Downtown exit and near Providence Place Mall with a newly relocated Exit 38, about one mile south of its former location. RIDOT has posted numerous signs to guide motorists to their destinations.

    Cranston: All travel lanes on I-95 North and South at Route 10 have shifted to the right through 2026.

    Providence: All travel lanes are shifted to the right on I-95 North, between the Rte. 10/Elmwood Ave. off-ramp (Exit 33) and the Thurbers Ave. off-ramp (Exit 35), for replacement of the Broad and Eddy St. Bridges in Providence through 2027.

    Providence: I-95 at Eddy Street, all lanes are narrowed and shifted to the left on I-95 North and South at this overpass, located near the Thurbers Ave. (Exit 35) interchange for bridge work until further notice.

    Providence/Cranston/Warwick: I-95, from Jefferson Blvd. to Thurbers Ave., alternating lane closures for bridge demolition/construction, Sunday – Tuesday nights, from 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.

    Warwick: The on-ramp to I-95 North from Rte. 113 (East Ave.) will be closed through the fall. Follow signed detour.
