The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will be installing concrete barriers and an overhead Digital Message System (DMS) board near MM 1 on the Spaulding Turnpike. This work will require a lane closure on I-95 northbound at Exit 4, for traffic heading toward northbound NH Route 16 (Spaulding Turnpike). The lane shift will conclude where I-95 traffic merges with NH Route 16 traffic from the Portsmouth Traffic Circle.
Weather permitting, the lane closure will be north bound from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM through Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Road users should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.
This work is part of Eastern Turnpikes ITS DMS R&R project 42934 to replace 4 outdated highway message boards on I-95, NH16, and US 101. This $1.3 million project, is scheduled for completion fall of 2025.
