The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has begun daytime work on I-95 Southbound, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
This work consists of the realignment of portable concrete barrier along the Southbound right shoulder from the Exit 7 off ramp (MM 15.6) to the Exit 5 off ramp (MM 14.0). The existing barrier will be shifted to allow the use of the Part Time Shoulder Lane for the weekend.
The barrier will be removed from the roadway by July 2nd, 2025, with no impact to traffic travelling along I-95 southbound.
The existing closure of the I-95 Exit 7 southbound on ramp will be extended to July 2nd, 2025. Traffic will continue to be detoured to the Portsmouth Traffic from Submarine Way for I-95 southbound access.
Message boards, uniformed officers, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the travelling public.
This work is part of the construction of two sound abatement walls and privacy fence along I-95 in Portsmouth. This $18.7 million project, is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2025.
Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.
