I-95 travelers passing through Rhode Island this week should be aware of construction activities that may impact their trip.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) reports the following road and lane closure notices, effective for the week of May 24-30, 2025. All schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
I-95 North Viaduct, Providence
- Providence: I-95 North at Exit 38, we’ll begin work to open additional travel lanes on Friday night (May 30) starting at 9:00 p.m., opening by Saturday morning (May 31).
- Providence: I-95 North at the Exit 37 interchange, various ramps will be closed then reopened when no longer needed for bridge demolition, Monday – Thursday nights, from 11:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Follow signed detours.
- Providence: I-95, from Exit 37A to Exit 39A, alternating lane closures for milling, paving, and utility restructure alignment, Monday night, 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. and Tuesday – Thursday nights, 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
