Latest I-95 Traffic Impacts in the Fredericksburg Area: June 23 – 29, 2024

I-95 Traffic | Fredericksburg, Virginia | I-95 Exit Guide

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-95 construction and maintenance work in the Fredericksburg area, through Saturday, June 29, 2024. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

I-95 Northbound and Southbound

Exit 118 (Thornburg) to Exit 130 (Route 3)

Monday – Thursday, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. Alternating single lane closures for soil sampling work at mile markers 125-127.

Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway)

Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Single lane closure at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. at mile marker 137, the bridge over Potomac Creek. Bridge joint repairs. Northbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.

Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville) to Exit 148 (Quantico)

Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Single lane closure at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. at mile marker 145, the bridge over Aquia Creek. Bridge joint repairs. Northbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.

I-95 Northbound

Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) to Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway)

Monday – Friday, 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure starting at 9 p.m. on I-95 northbound at mile markers 133-135 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension construction.

I-95 Southbound

Exit 126 (Spotsylvania) to Exit 118 (Thornburg)

Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Milling and paving between mile markers 125-120. Single lane closure at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. All lanes reopen by 5 a.m.

Bridge Washing

Sunday – Thursday, Single lane closure at 9 p.m. followed by double lane closure at 10 p.m. All lanes reopen by 5 a.m. Crews will be working along the following routes:

  • Route 1 at mile marker 126
  • Ni River at mile marker 121
  • Po River at mile marker 119
