The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will close the I-95 northbound rest area at mile marker 99 beginning Monday, July 13.

The closure is necessary to facilitate the construction of the I-95 over Lake Marion Bridge Replacement Project. Closing the rest area will enhance the safety of drivers traveling through the work zone while providing space to accommodate construction traffic, equipment, and materials needed for the project.

The next available rest area on I-95 northbound is located at mile marker 139.

** The I-95 southbound rest area at mile marker 99 will remain open and unaffected throughout the construction of the project.**

The northbound rest area will re-open to the public in 2030 upon project completion.
