The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that daytime lane closures will be implemented to install membrane waterproofing on the I-95 bridge over Lieutenant River in Old Lyme. This work will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, starting Monday, September 21 through Thursday, October 1, 2026. Delays are expected during these hours.
The $1,932,636.00 project is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2026.
I-95 Lane Closure/Detour Information
There will be various lane closures on I-95 during the daytime, Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., starting Monday, September 21 through Thursday, October 1, 2026. Traffic control signing patterns and State Police will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
