The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reports the following traffc impacts associated with I-95 construction projects in the Fredericksburg area for September 27 through October 3, 2026. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
I-95 Northbound
Exit 126 (Spotsylvania)
Tuesday – Thursday, from 9:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. and Thursday – Friday, from 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Varying single lane and interstate shoulder closures near the exit 126 interchange. Crews will be gathering soil samples at mile markers 124-125 and 128-129.
Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville)
Sunday – Thursday, from 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.
Single lane closure or mobile lane closure between mile markers 142-145 near the interchange. Pavement marking.
I-95 Southbound
Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville)
Sunday – Thursday, from 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Single lane closure or mobile lane closure between mile markers 145-142 near the interchange. Pavement marking.
Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) to Exit 130 (Route 3/Fredericksburg)
Thursday – Friday, from 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Alternating lane closures on the southbound Rappahannock River bridge. Guardrail installation.
Exit 126 (Spotsylvania)
Sunday – Thursday, from 8:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. and Friday – Saturday, from 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Varying single and double lane closures near the interchange for noise barrier installation. Single lane closure begins at 8:00 p.m. with a double lane closure starting at 10:00 p.m. All southbound lanes will reopen by 7:00 a.m. except on Saturday, when all lanes will reopen at 6:00 a.m.
