The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Fredericksburg District announces scheduled lane closures and ramp restrictions for construction and maintenance activities across the Fredericksburg, Northern Neck, and Middle Peninsula regions. All work is subject to favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to consult 511 Virginia for the most current information and real-time updates.
I-95 Northbound
- Exit 126 (Spotsylvania): Thursday–Friday, 10:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m. The northbound off-ramp to southbound Route 1 will be closed for construction. A signed detour will be in place.
- Exit 130 (Route 3/Fredericksburg): Monday–Wednesday, 8:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m. Bridge inspection operations on the Route 3 overpasses will require alternating single-lane closures in the northbound direction.
- Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville):
- Sunday–Monday, 10:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m., and Monday–Thursday, 9:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m. Milling and paving operations between mile markers 142 and 145 in Stafford County. Single-lane closures will begin at the stated start times, with double-lane closures commencing one hour later. All northbound lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m. each morning.
- Ramp Closures at Exit 143:
- Sunday–Monday, 10:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m.: Northbound off-ramp to Route 1 closed for milling and paving.
- Monday–Tuesday, 10:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m.: Northbound on-ramp from Route 610 and northbound off-ramp to westbound Route 610 (Garrisonville) closed for milling and paving.
- Wednesday–Thursday, 10:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m.: Northbound off-ramp to Route 1 closed for milling and paving.
I-95 Southbound
- Exit 130 (Route 3/Fredericksburg): Monday–Wednesday, 8:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m. Bridge inspection operations on the Route 3 overpasses will require alternating single-lane closures affecting both local and through southbound travel lanes.
- Exit 126 (Spotsylvania): Sunday–Wednesday, 10:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m. The northbound and southbound Route 1 on-ramps to southbound I-95 will be closed for construction. A signed detour will be provided.
- Exit 110 (Ladysmith): Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Shoulder closures for drainage pipe and roadside maintenance. All travel lanes and ramp lanes will remain open. Equipment may be present along the shoulders; motorists should exercise caution. Shoulder restrictions will conclude by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
