The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reports the following exit and ramp and lane closures as a result of I-95 construction thru Friday, April 28, 2017:

Temporary I-95 Exit & Ramp Closure

  • I-95 Providence: I-95 South, at Exit 22 (Rtes. 6 & 10/Downtown Providence), exit closed for construction, Wednesday and Thursday nights from midnight to 5 a.m. the follow day. Follow signed detour.

Overnight I-95 Restrictions

  • I-95 Cranston/Providence: I-95 North, from Elmwood Ave. to Eddy St., alternating lane closures for bridge work, Monday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
  • I-95 Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 23 (Charles St.) to Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.), left lane closed for construction, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
  • I-95 Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 22 (Rtes. 6 & 10/Downtown Providence) to just south of Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.), right lane closed for construction, Sunday-Tuesday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
  • I-95 Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 20 (I-195) to Exit 17 (Rte. 1), and I-95 North, from Exit 16 (Rte. 10) to Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.), alternating lane closures for a bridge inspection, Sunday and Monday nights from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day.
  • I-95 Richmond/Hopkinton: I-95 South and North, from Exit 4 (Rte. 3) to the Connecticut state line, right shoulder closures in a moving operation for roadway sweeping, Monday night from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following day.
  • I-95 Warwick: I-95 South at Exit 13 (Airport Connector), right shoulder closed in a moving operation for drainage work at the ramps, Monday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
  • I-95 Warwick/Cranston: I-95 North, from Exit 14 (Rte. 37) to Exit 16 (Rte. 10), and I-95 South, from Exit 16 (Rte. 10) to Exit 15 (Jefferson Blvd.), lane and shoulder closures on the roadway and ramps in a moving operation for roadway sweeping, Monday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

Weekday I-95 Restrictions

  • I-95 I-195 Providence: I-95 North at Exit 19 (I-195), I-195 East at Exit 2 (Gano St.), and I-195 West, from Exit 2 (South Main St.) to Exit 1A (Point St.), watch for construction activities behind barrier, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • I-95 Providence: I-95 South at Exit 19 (Eddy St.), left lane and shoulder closures on the ramp for a bridge inspection, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon.
  • I-95 Richmond: I-95 North, from Exit 3 (Rte. 138) to Exit 4 (Rte. 3), right shoulder closed in a moving operation for tree trimming, Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • I-95 Richmond: I-95 North and South, on the Baker Pines Bridge over Rte. 3 (Nooseneck Hill Rd.), alternating lane closures for survey work, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Ongoing I-95 Restrictions

  • I-95 Exeter/Richmond: Watch for construction vehicles exiting and entering the median area along I-95 South after Exit 5 (Rte. 102) at the Tefft Hill Trail Bridge, weekdays from 6 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through Spring 2017.
