The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will conduct nighttime road work on I-95 Southbound in Portsmouth from Mile Marker 15.4 to 14.6 on the nights of Wednesday August 5, 2026, and Thursday August 6, 2026, between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
Weather permitting, work will consist of striping the I-95 Southbound Exit 7 On-Ramp and part time shoulder use lane from mile marker 15.2 to 14.6. The right lane and shoulder of I-95 Southbound will be closed from mile marker 15.4 to 14.6; the I-95 SB Exit 7 On-Ramp will also be closed at this time.
Message boards, uniformed officers, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the travelling public of the work. A detour package will be in place on Market Street to direct traffic on to I-95 Southbound via the Portsmouth Traffic Circle.
