The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is progressing with the resurfacing of approximately 9.7 miles of northbound and southbound I-95 from south of SR50 to SR46 in Titusville and Mims. The $29.8 million project, which began in early 2026 and is estimated for completion in spring 2027, also includes resurfacing the I-95 ramps at the SR50, SR406 and SR46 interchanges.
As part of the improvements, the northbound I-95 exit ramp to SR46 is being widened to extend the existing right-turn lane for smoother traffic flow. Additional upgrades feature enhanced ramp lighting, refreshed roadway signs and pavement markings, and advanced traffic management technology to boost safety and mobility in the area.
Motorists should prepare for the following lane and ramp closures related to paving and construction activities:
From Sunday, September 27, through Thursday, October 1, between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., single and double lane closures along with shoulder closures will occur on southbound and northbound I-95 from SR46 (Exit 223) to SR50 (Exit 215), and from I-95 northbound to Addison Canal.
On Monday, September 28, the off-ramp from southbound I-95 to SR406 (Exit 220, Garden Street) will close overnight from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 29. Southbound travelers seeking SR406 should continue to SR50 (Exit 215), turn left onto eastbound SR50, re-enter northbound I-95, and proceed to Exit 220.
FDOT urges all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy during these periods. All exits will remain open at other times as work continues.
