The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) reports the following I-95 road and lane closure notices, effective for the week of August 15-21, 2026. All schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
Overnight I-95 Closures
Providence/Cranston/Warwick:
I-95, from Park Avenue to Thurbers Avenue, alternating lane closures for bridge construction/demolition, Sunday – Thursday nights, from 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Continuing I-95 Closures
East Greenwich/Warwick:
All traffic is shifted to the right on I-95 South at the Rte. 4 interchange through next summer as we work to complete drainage improvements and construct the northern pier for the new flyover bridge from Rte. 4 North to I-95 South.
Warwick:
The on-ramp from Jefferson Boulevard to I-95 South in Warwick is closed for bridge construction through summer 2027. During the closure, all traffic on Jefferson Boulevard heading to I-95 South should use the on-ramp to the Airport Connector outbound, located about ½ mile south of the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard, Kilvert Street, and Coronado Road.
