The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-95 construction in Rockledge, through Saturday, January 12, 2019.
- Monday – Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., I-95 northbound and southbound single lane closures for construction of new interchange.
- Monday – Saturday, Viera Boulevard eastbound and westbound daytime single lane closures for construction of new interchange.
The proposed improvements involve a new interchange with I-95 at the existing Viera Boulevard overpass. The purpose of the proposed improvements is to improve the mobility in the Viera community and central Brevard County by relieving traffic congestion at the I-95 interchanges with Fiske Boulevard to the north and Wickham Road to the south as well as to accommodate future projected traffic demand along Viera Boulevard safely and efficiently.
