    Major I-95 Construction, Closures in Old Saybrook Begins September 20

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a pavement project will be performed on I-95 from southbound access of Route 154 to the Baldwin Bridge, including exit ramps 68 and 69 in Old Saybrook. This project is scheduled to occur on Sunday evening, September 20, 2026, and be completed on Friday morning, October 16, 2026. 

    The project consists of milling and filling a 1.56-mile segment of I-95, Northbound and Southbound, in Old Saybrook from the southbound access of Route 154 to the Baldwin Bridge, including exit ramp nos. 68 and 69.

    I-95 Lane Closure/Detour Information

    Motorists can expect lane closures on I-95  in Old Saybrook from the southbound access of Route 154 to the Baldwin Bridge, including exit ramps 68 and 69.  Traffic control personnel, crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday evening to Friday morning.

    Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
