The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that I-95 northbound and southbound will be closed between the Route 1 and Route 273 interchanges. The closures will be necessary for the installation of new overhead sign structures. All work will occur between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am for the following anticipated dates starting the week of January 23, 2023:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, January 23rd, 24th and 25th, I-95 will be closed northbound and southbound between the Route 1 and Route 273 interchanges.
Thursday and Friday, January 26th and 27th, only Southbound I-95 will be closed at the Route 1 interchange.
Monday, January 30th, I-95 will be closed northbound and southbound between the Route 1 and Route 273 interchanges.
This work is weather dependent and closure dates may be adjusted if work is canceled. Motorists should use caution and expect minor delays moving through the area.
Detours:
I-95 Southbound – Motorists will be directed to southbound Route 1, to westbound Route 273, and back to southbound I-95
I-95 Northbound – Motorists will be directed to eastbound Route 273, to northbound Route 1, and back to northbound I-95.
