Maine has some of the best local food festivals in the country, celebrating the bounty of the land and the sea and honoring Maine-grown foods like potatoes, blueberries, maple syrup, and the harvest of the sea.
Maine’s fresh clams highlight the Yarmouth Clam Festival and the world’s biggest celebration of lobster is the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland, while Eastport honors the local catch at their annual Salmon and Seafood Festival on Passamaquoddy Bay. Maine-centric treats are featured at events like the Moxie Festival and the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival. All hail the tiny blue fruit at the Machias Wild Blueberry Festival, and in honor of Aroostook County’s famous crop, all things potato is celebrated at the Maine Potato Blossom Festival.
