I-95 Lane, Ramp Closures for Bridge Construction in Delaware

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that the first stages of the bridge girder installation for the new flyover ramp from I-95 southbound to Route 896 southbound will begin the week of January 22nd and continue through mid-February, weather permitting.

The first 3 stages will utilize overnight lane and ramp closures to erect steel girders as follows:

  • Stage 1 (Anticipated Start: January 22, 2024) will involve overnight lane closures on Northbound I-95.
  • Stage 2 (Anticipated Start: January 29, 2024) will involve overnight lane closures on Southbound I-95 and overnight closure of the Southbound I-95 off ramp onto Southbound Route 896.
  • Stage 3 (Anticipated Start: February 6, 2024) will involve the overnight closure of both Northbound and Southbound I-95.

Detailed information regarding the timing of the lane and ramp closures will be issued in advance as the schedule is finalized.
