The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close all northbound and southbound lanes along State Road (SR) 9A/I-95) near the SR 934/NW 79 Street exit and entrance ramps (exit 7), including the northbound and southbound SR 9A/I-95 express lanes Friday night, May 9.
Work will take place between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. The SR 9A/I-95 express lanes may close if needed as early as 9 p.m. The closure is necessary to allow for the installation of a new overhead structure.
The effort is part of the ongoing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Device Replacement Project. All traffic will be detoured as
follows:
Southbound SR 9A/I-95 traffic will be directed to:
- Exit at the southbound SR 9A/I-95 off ramp to NW 81 Street – SR 934/NW 79 Street (Exit7)
- Continue on NW 6 Court
- Turn left on SR 934/NW 79 Street
- Turn right on SR 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard
- Turn left to the SR 112/I-195 ramp to southbound SR 9A/I-95
Motorists traveling east along NW 62 Street will be directed to:
- Turn left on SR 7/US 441/NW 7 Avenue
- Turn right on SR 934/NW 79 Street
- Turn right on SR 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard
- Turn left to the SR 112/I-195 ramp to southbound SR 9A/I-95
Expect additional entrance ramp closures at southbound SR 9A/I-95 at NW 62 Street and the ramp from NW 6 Court and SR 934/NW 79 Street to southbound SR 9A/I-95. Southbound SR 9A/I-95 express lane traffic will be directed to exit the express lanes at the NW 147 Steet and NE 5 Avenue access points.
Northbound SR 9A/I-95 traffic will be directed to:
- Exit right to the SR 112/I-195 east off ramp (Exit 4B)
- Continue on the SR 112/I-195 east ramp
- Exit right to North Miami Avenue (Exit 2A)
- Turn left onto North Miami Avenue
- Turn left onto SR 944/NW 54 Street
- Turn right onto NW 6 Avenue
- Merge onto SR 9A/I-95 North from NW 5 Court entrance ramp
Motorists traveling on westbound SR 112/I-195 will be directed to:
- Exit right to the SR 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard exit ramp
- Continue onto NE 38 Street
- Turn right onto SR 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard
- Turn left onto SR 944/NW 54 Street
- Turn right onto NW 6 Avenue
- Merge onto SR 9A/I-95 North from NW 5 Court entrance ramp
Expect additional closures at NW 39 Street and at the NW 10 Avenue northbound SR 9A/I-95 express lanes entrance ramp. The eastbound SR 112/I-195 ramp to northbound SR 9A/I-95 express lanes will also be closed.
Detours will be clearly marked. Please follow all posted signage. Saturday, May 10 will be used as an alternate date should the schedule change due to weather or other unexpected conditions.
